My Apple Juice began in 2009 when, frustrated at the sight of so many apples going to waste in private gardens, Richard Paget decided to start a pressing service in his local village. That first year 1.5 tons of apples were collected & cut up and put through the family magimix (it still works!) and into a small borrowed hand press; producing 1,000 bottles.

From this modest start the enterprise has grown considerably with Richard, his partner Sally, and their annually hired team pressing apples delivered from private houses up to 50 miles away of their base at Hungerford Park. Customers return to collect their juice bottled and pasteurised with their house name on the label.

My Apple Juice also works with local schools, community groups and charities supporting educational and environmental projects.

Later in the season Richard and Sally buy in fruit to produce their Savernake Juice range and their popular Apple Cider Vinegar. In early summer elderflowers are picked locally and turned into delicious cordial. These can be found at various markets, pubs, cafes and retail outlets in Wiltshire and Berkshire.

The mission is not only to provide a pressing & preserving service, but to raise awareness of how much fruit (aka food) grows all around us and is allowed to rot and go to waste; but also to encourage other similar enterprises around the country.
